Content Warnings: Internalised transphobia, transphobia
Mx Harry-Anne Bentley (She/They) is the co-curator of indie comics publisher and collective Dragonhide Studios and co-host of the My Neighbour TransToro podcast.
She believes strongly in the power of representation in fiction; and they explore this through promo, discussion, and their own comic GenderQuest on Instagram for more.
Adult content warning - Dragon Studios, My Neighbour TransToro and @GenderQuest on Instagram all contain adult content not suitable for children.
https://nonaamspaypal.com came to mind reading about the internalised transphobia warning, since that quiet self-questioning is often harder to depict than the external bigotry. The way the strip captures that moment of finally admitting the answer to yourself, rather than the dramatic coming-out scene, feels truer to how it actually happens for a lot of people. I keep thinking about how much representation like GenderQuest would have meant to me years ago, when the only stories I saw skipped straight past the doubt.
